The Grand Old Lady

同Tanjung Lobang Beach一樣, 呢個旅遊勝地都係唔知中文叫咩名堂, 所以依然都係用它既英文名稱代替. :)

老公講, 係美里(Miri)無去過"加拿大山"參觀呢個 The Grand Old Lady 就唔算係來過美里. 所以, 就算呢個地方點悶都好(我個人認為), 都一定要到此一遊!! 依家， 就又我為大家簡介一下 The Grand Old Lady 既少少歷史由來：

在石油未開發前，美里只是砂拉越北部一个小渔村。最早关于石油发现的记载是在1882年7月31日，Claude Champion de Crespigny(当时居住在砂拉越，峇南的英国人) 记载了当地人在人工挖掘的井里发现了石油。可是当时石油只被当地人用来修补船只和点燃油灯。

直到二十世纪初，美里的石油才受到倫敦重视。Anglo-Saxon Petroleum-当时蚬壳公司 （Shell)的子公司，被委任到美里进行考察及开采的工作。1910年8月 10日，蚬壳公司的工作人员成功在美里加拿大山上竖立马来西亚第一座钻油台（被称为‘第一号油井’ 名為The Grand Old Lady），并启动了马来西亚的石油开采工业。

所以話, 呢個旅遊勝地大家點可以錯過呢? 若然來到美里一定要來參觀參觀!!

當然, 除左第一号油井之外仲有其他嘢可以參觀既... 只係當期時實在係太太太曬啦!! 曬到我都痴痴呆呆咁, 所以只好是但影幾張相就算係交差啦... 點知老公睇相後竟然話我無心幫他影... 哈哈!! 俾他識穿左添... 乜啲相真係咁差咩?!!!

老實講, 我唔知呢個叫咩名堂... :P

總括來講, 若然你對歷史充滿興趣既話呢度不失為一個可以俾你探討歷史既好地方. 又或者你想上來吹吹風欣賞下風景既話呢度都係一個唔錯既地方來架!! 來美里, 一定要來加拿大山哦!! :)

Tanjung Lobang Beach a.k.a Taman Selera

唔知Tanjung Lobang Beach既華語叫乜嘢, 所以只好用它既馬來名(?!)來做標題. 嚴格來講今次係我第二次來呢個沙灘, 如果唔係想話帶我仔仔去沙灘玩我睇我應該都唔會再去咯, 因為係我心目中, 呢個沙灘既海水唔夠清澈.... 哈哈哈哈!!!

相隔左咁耐再次來到呢個沙灘, 覺得它靚左乾淨左同埋啲海水清左, 同對上一次來做比較既話真係有少少唔同, 但係我想應該係退潮後海水將啲垃圾沖走左既原因呱... 就因為難得風景宜人, 所以特別影多幾張相來俾自己留念!! :)

一邊享受美食, 一邊欣賞無敵海景. 正啊!!

希望可以找一日傍晚再來, 一來可以嘆下呢度既美食同飲我最愛既椰水, 二來可以影低呢度既日落!! :)

Paddington House of Pancakes

I always thought that Paddington House of Pancakes only serve dessert.. I never though that pancakes can also be dished out as the main course too!!!

That was actually my 1st time at Paddington. My mother-in-law was in town for a visit. After half a day of walking in Ikea and the Curve with my beloved son and husband, mom wanted to rest. At that point, we happened to be right at the doorstep of Paddington.

When i saw the menu, i was immediately enlightened to the fact that pancakes are not monotonously boring food, but can actually be served in almost unlimitless, colourful, delectable variationz. At Paddington, pancakes is not stereotyped / confined to dessert but is made into an array of full fledge main course. Moreover, you can see the chef diligently preparing their masterpiece. At the end, the food that are served on the table are intricately decorated. The creation are eye-candy itself. They look very nice and delicious!!

We enjoy the food. My only regret is to have to eat the beautifully decorated pancakes!!

Butterfly Park / Taman Rama Rama

After Taman Orchid / Bunga Raya. Me and husband went to the Taman Rama-Rama. Again, This is also my 1st visit to the Butterfly Park and i was hopeful that the Butterfly Park would be more fun, and with more pleasant surprises. With an admission fee of RM8/person and an additional RM1/camera, it better be. Hahaha!!! With a higher entrance fee, we expect more.. Agree?!

When we were there, it's around 3.30pm. I saw a bunch of kindergarden kids had already finished their visit and was ready to go home. However, we could still see many other visitors queuing up for tickets.

To my surprise, I saw many foreign tourists inside the Butterfly Park. I was just wondering whether there were pure Butterfly enthusiasts, or could they just be there because it was included in the travel package..

There are many other different types of butterfly and we were unable to take pictures of all of them in the Butterfly Park. I still have alot of other Butterfly photos but i think it will be too many to post it all on my blog.... Go visit and experience it for yourself.. n_n

Taman Orkid & Bunga Raya

We took a tour of Taman Orkid / Bunga Raya. Though nothing out of the ordinary but you can see many species of orchids and bunga raya (hibiscus) there. This is actually my 1st to the Taman Orkid / Bunga Raya. Thought i can see more varieties of bunga raya but felt a bit disappointed, we just saw a few... And i took just one picture out the few we saw..


This is the only bunga raya worthy of a photoshoot.. The Rest, you can actually see it on a normal roadside.. As you can see, this bunga raya is even bigger than my face!! Hahahah!! There were two different colors: red and white.

Walk through the Taman Bunga Raya, and you will see the Orchid Garden, which is alot more beautiful. There are good varieties of flowers, in many vivid colors, planted all around the garden..




There is also a covered area selling souvenirs and orchids. The price of these orchids depends on the size and species. I bought two orchids for myself!!


The uncle who was selling the orchids was very kind, he'll give you useful tips on planting and caring for your orchids, and he told me that because i am a newbie, Just buy the cheaper ones to try 1st, and if i am really interested, then buy the expensive ones. He also advised me that there is no need to buy fertilizers for just 2 orchids. As i cook everyday, just use the "rice water" to flower it everyday

Beside the orchids and bunga raya, there is also a pretty pond with beautiful lotus flowers. The lotus flowers are bright and brilliant.



I thought it would be boring, but in fact, i actually enjoyed the experience. Me and husband went there during weekend, and it just cost us RM1/each for admission.

If you love flowers, This is the place you can consider going..

Cathay Platinium Movie Suites

That's why i said blog-ing can let us show off to everybody!! Last saturday me and hubby went to Cineleisure Damansara to watch movie and too bad, because the normal price seat for the movie "Wanted" was full already.. So, we decided to try out the Platinium Movie Suites.. Hehehe!! This is my 1st time watching movie in the Platinium Movie Suite, Hahaha!! So Excited!! (For those often watched movie in Platinium Suite's customer, So sorry about that, very embrassing to say this is my 1st time, that's why very excited!)

There is a very comfortable place to let you wait before the movie starts. You can enjoy the facilities there such as internet, free welcome drink, ogawa massage chair and also the environment is quit nice. Inside the movie suites, they have only 9 couple sit with very comfortable chair (not ogawa anymore..). In between the chair, they put one coffee table to let you put your snacks and drinks.. But then, i still like the normal price couple seat cos i can sit more close with my hubby.. Hehehe..

Anyway, If there are any good movie we will still consider the Platinium Movie Suites to enjoy our movie time...
